Sublimation (Transitional Printing)

Logos are printed on a special kind of paper and pasted onto the product. Thereafter, the products are heated at high temperatures - a very durable printing is achieved. This method is commonly used on restaurant dishes, due to its resistance to both manual dishwashing and washing in a dishwasher.

Sublimation allows printing logos inside mugs and cups, and in other complex locations, which remain inaccessible to pad printing or silkscreen. The downside of the method is the difficulty in achieving accurate PANTONE colors. The colors may alter in high heat. The same technique can be applied in textile printing. Since sublimation requires a very smooth printing surface even when using it on textiles, this technique can only be performed on a specific range of products.
